Gas gauge goes past full?

I have read some of the other post with this issue, but not sure where to start checking for the issue I am having. I have a new tank and sending unit installed and the gauge seems to work correctly until I turn the headlights on. When I pull the headlight switch the needle wraps around to about the 3 o'clock position.

Something not grounded in the light circuit maybe?

Thanks!

Sounds like a ground issue. Check the ground on the back of the fuel gauge, or temporarily connect a jumper wire from the gauge to a good ground and see what happens.

Just tap the gauge with your knuckle or fingernail and it should go back down. Just a loose nut behind the dash that grounds the gauge to the dash. Mine does this a lot and I get all excited then I realize I don't really have that much gas in there. Gets me every time.
