Fusible Link Replacement
Fusible Link Replacement
What options exist to replace the fusible link in the wire from the horn relay to the fuse panel? The wire has frayed at the end of the link so I cannot repair. The more I read it appears the fusible link is a short wire that's a smaller gauge then the feed wire and there's no fuse. Is the connector nothing more then the link. Is this designed to short the smaller gauge wire?

You can buy replacement wire at your local auto parts store.
Search for fusible link wire | O'Reilly Auto Parts (oreillyauto.com)

Only to assist in providing additional clarity & feedback. It's best to buy & use a wire which is "designed" as a fusible link since the core insulation & rubber insulation used when fabricating a fusible link is of different materials (which withstand greater heat and will not ignite into flame). Point is - don't just use any gauge wire unless it's designed as a fusible link.
