fuel sending unit

So i was installing my gas tank this weekend and got to the point where i was hooking my guage wire to the sending unit but i didnt see a tab sticking up for a ground. Does anyone know if fuel tanks for an 86 cutlass would be self grounding. I'm asking because the sending unit is a twist lock type that is touching the tank and the straps don't have any rubber barrier between themselves and the tank. Any help is appreciated.

22 views and no one has an idea?

As you can see the old tank looks like it has a line coming from where the S/U twists into it. But i'm not sure if that could be the + side for the pump. No takes on this?
