Looking for some advice with my 1968 Cutlass. I have lost my turn signals and backup light. I have checked the fuse at the fuse box and replaced the flasher under the dash...still no go. Builds are good! Would appreciate any ideas anyone may have.

Sorry meant to say that the bulbs are good.

 

Did you validate you are or you are not getting 12V to the bulb sockets and/or the lines leading to the bulb sockets?
Did you validate you are or you are not getting 12V on both sides of the fuse?
Use a bulb tester or multimeter.

 

If you lost both it’s likely a bad ground. 68 Backup light sockets themselves are known for not grounding but the first thing I’d check is the main ground off the harness that screws into the side of your trunk latch.

Check the main ground (I believe it's the attachment point to the bumper?) and/or the ground(s) from the wires.

 

Have you done anything under the dash? I had a similar problem on my 72, but it was just the pass side. After two days if diagnosis only to still not find the issue, I went back to connection for the turn signal switch under the dash. Turns out when I was replacing the driver side heater duct, I partially disconnected the plug for the switch (doh!).

I do have voltage on both sides of the fuse. No voltage to the lamp sockets. I did install rally pack gauges. I will check the main and trunk grounds. Thanks everyone!
