Door Panel Speaker Size

I have a '70 CS convertible and was wondering if anyone could tell me the best size of speaker that I can put in the door panels.

I used 6" round speakers in my doors. I don't like the sound of 3 ways they always sound tinny.

It's a bit of a squeeze between the window mechanism, but 6" speakers do fit. Don't start cutting until you check out for interference behind the door panel.

Instead of cutting the door panels, you could install kick panel speakers:
