I promise I'll buy the service manual soon... in the meantime does anyone know the trick to accessing the burnt out bulb behind this lens?

 

Lined a wide flat head screwdriver with electrical tape and carefully popped the lens cover off from the underside. The bulb was still working just not twisted in place properly,

 

The outer plastic chrome finished retaining surround is screwed into place into the arm rest quarter section. Use a small screwdriver to pry the white translucent lens from the chrome finished retaining surround - in the small slot between the lens and the surrounding chrome finished retainer. Use of a flashlight is appropriate and get close so you can 'witness' the white translucent lens beginning to 'give way'. Just be careful and nudge it ever so slightly on either the left-hand or right-hand side and be mindful to watch the lens flex as it gives way from the surrounding retainer.
