Convertible Switch Same as Rear Window Switch?

I have a dash complete with a "Rear Window" switch. I am going to use that Dash in a Convertible. The switch for a convertible top is WAY too much money for just a switch. Is the switch the same? Anyone with a Wagon/Vista Cruiser know if the switch is the same? I have no basis for comparison.

Yes, the internal parts of the switch are the same.

Great!so in theory I just move the switch over to the area where the convertible switch is so that when I put the Woodgrain appliqué on top it's where it needs to be! And the harness will then plug into it?

I have seen the convertible top switch in both extra locations in the dash so I would not even worry about switching the location just install the dash and plug the harness into the back of the switch and you should be good.

I would.... however the Woodgrain kit I have has the cutout one space to the right. :-/. It's too late to return it. I'll eventually install OEM cruise control so maybe I'll use that spot later
