Column to Floor Shifter NSS

Question. The previous owner of my car did the column to floor shifter conversion. He kept the original steering column installed and just removed the shifting handle. The car starts in every gear and of course the reverse lights do not work. What's the easiest way to get the NSS feature to work with the floor shifter?

Reconnect the backdrive linkage from the transmission to the steering column collar. The factory floor shift cars from 71-up had the same backdrive linkage and NSS as the floor shift cars.
