Better design glove box light?

As I mentioned in my “why do I do this..,” thread, I broke the glove box light in my 69. The factory light design is pretty flimsy, the metal cap held in place with melted plastic cones apart very easy.

Just wondering if anyone in readerland has a more creative replacement or fix. I’m not buying another reproduction lamp, if there isn’t an easy upgrade I’m probably going to go without.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I used a cheap billet LED interior light activated by the original switch in the top of my Vista glove box.
