Battery lasted 9 years, RIP

My Walmart Everstart 2 year battery finally gave out after 9 solid years of service. My car is a year round daily driver. I can't believe how much batteries are now a days, $111.00 walk out. There was not much price difference for a 5 year vs 2. Bought a group 24F 750cca to replace my group 34 that was 660cca. Both were basically the same physical size. Hopefully it lasts as long as the old one. The Eversart batteries are made by Johnson Controls and I guess are American made.

Its always good to hear that a part or battery in your case lasted for some time. I hope the cycle continues with you new battery.
I've had good luck with interstate over the years but they are getting expensive. I may look into the walmart brand next go around.
Thanks for posting the make and where you purchased.

The AZ duralast gold 7 year pro rated warranty. Date of purchase 5-2000 still winging over the 350 at a good cranking speed.

The one in my Alero is still running the factory Delco battery date of purchase of the car 11-2003

I once got 9yrs. and 9 months out of a delco. It was still cranking when I exchanged it. Just didn't know how much longer I could trust it.

9 years is a good run.

I purchased a red top optima in '95 for my '82 Regal with 350 Olds/Tremec TKO/3:42 limited slip 8.5". When I sold the car 4.5 years ago, the battery was still turning hard after untold deep cycle charges, neglect and general abuse. Back then I had paid around $125 for it..from a small dealer.... I can't vouche for their quality today being made in the land of Margaritas, but still remember, and wonder just how long that battery lasted....

Interesting Eric. I read some article several years ago that compared batteries and it rated Walmart batteries really high. I have one in my 54 and my 72 Cutlass. Batteries are like tires in that the prices have really gone up in recent years. I can remember you could get a good battery for about 60 bucks a few year ago. Not anymore.
