Battery Central Mall.

Just wondering if anyone has purchased a vintage battery from Battery Central Mall. They are AGM and are exactly like the original Delco Battery.

Thank you, but I was interested in the R59. I saw an add in a car dealership and just wondering if anyone had experience with them.

I purchased an R71S from them that lasted about 13 months. Won't do that again.

Unhappy

Others have had durability problems with BCM. They put a small battery inside the large OEM case.

Those batteries are made by Jims Battery Mfg. formally Antique Auto Battery. I had a replica tar top in my 63 Fury and it worked fine but the tar case top could not withstand the Texas heat and split. So I replaced it with a different one from Antique Auto Battery. The biggest problem I think you will have is they are only around 550-600CCA.

Thank you all for the " valuable" information. These things are not cheap plus my exchange to USD from Canuck bucks plus the shipping, Canadian taxes, my end cost would be 500 to 550. I will think twice, again thank you for your input.

When my car was judged at the OCA Nationals this year, I lost points for my Everlast Walmart battery. So I bought a Delco topper and a Delco decal to go on the side. I spent about $70 and have a lot better battery for lots less money. It looks pretty convincing.

Years back I purchased a large trunk mounted battery from their predecessor company, Antique Auto Battery. The case contained 2 AGMs and lasted almost 15 years. The replacement that I ordered about 3 years ago from Battery Central lasted 2-3 years. Simultaneously, I purchased a R-59 repro for another muscle car. It also lasted 2-3 years.

I am moving on to alternatives like toppers.

I’ve had a DC12 on order from them since March.
The last I heard when I called is they MIGHT be ready by January at the earliest.

A buddy had one in his 65 that lasted 5 years.
