AM Radio

Could someone tell me what the purpose of the shunt wire is and where it attaches to.Im insalling an AM radio in my 1966 442 Thanks TOM

When adjusting the AM antenna trimmer in cars with a rear speaker, you need to unplug the fader rheostat to gain access to the trimmer screw, and the Chassis Service Manual instructs you to use a wire to shunt the terminals of the socket that the rheostat plugs into so that when you turn on the radio to adjust it, you don't blow the output transistor.
