Hi all. Rebuilding an alternator for a 1970 442 (37-amp, internal regulator). I have the majority of the parts needed but I need a few more. Can someone refer a website? I've tried Maniac Electric Motors multiple time with no success. I think they're out of business. Thanks!!

I just get my alternator parts from RockAuto. Standard Motor Parts is a well established brand.

 

Rock Auto doesn’t have a rotor. I don’t think they have the internal condenser either.

 

OK, not exactly common for replacement. At that point it's almost cheaper to get a rebuilt alternator and swap the case.

Rotor and condenser are probably the 2 most durable electrical parts in that alternator. Have you tested them? I have all the parts for the 10SI alternator if you need them. I have an OE rotor and condenser. Like Joe said you would probably be better off buying a whole unit and swapping parts especially when you consider shipping costs.

 

I didn't test. I'm doing a resto so the original rotor cosmetically looks bad and with the open face you can see it. Just me being **** plus I'm documenting everything I do. I can test the condenser, just thought it would be easy to get a new one seeing that all the other internals will also be new. If the rotor is cosmetically really good, then yah I have interest.
