aftermarket gauge issue

Installed new autometer sport comp electrical gauges in my 71 cutlass. I "think" I wired everything right - at least the lights work. Wires from senders to S terminal on gauges (snug connections). Wires (spliced to a single) from the I terminal to the IGN lug on the fuse block (snug connections). Ground (spliced to single wire) back to the dashpot bolt near the sending units. Water temp works fine but Oil Pressure reads 75 PSI with ign off. Ground issue I think. I had to install the sender with a 2" brass extension and a 45 deg el to clear the shelf. No teflon tape on the threads. How can I ground out the sender other than via the brass fittings?: confused:

Problem resolved. It was NOT the sender ground. It was the gauge ground. Apparently they must be grounded seperately and not spliced to a common ground wire.
