Adding AC to '77 Omega?
Adding AC to '77 Omega?
I'm curious as to what this might entail if I didn't want to use after-market items. As far as I know, there was never an AC unit installed in the car, though it has one heck of a good heater in it, and seems to have the control switches for an AC system on the dash in addition to the heat.

I'm focusing on the engine first, then the passenger side doors (one is dented so bad the lock no longer works), but after that I would love to try and get some air in this thing, as the lack of AC has been my biggest complaint about the car for the last six summers

I don't think your car ever had air. There is nothing on there to select heater or AC. The hot and cold is just the range for the temperature for you heater. The simplest thing would be to add an under dash AC. There are several companies that make them. Vintage Air and Old Air Products and Classic Auto Air are three companies that make them.
