89 olds 88

Hello,
I have an 1989 oldsmobile 88 rb. I am having some troubles with the battery going dead. I have pulled the clock fuse and had the battery checked. Also has new starter. The amp light is staying on once it is running. If I unplug the cable coming out of the alternator the amp light goes out. I think the cable goes back to the firewall. Can anyone tell me the location of the voltage regulator, what is looks like, and if this is a possible problem. New to oldsmobile auto repair and am not sure where to start. I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks in advance.

The alternator in your car has an internal voltage regulator. Take your car to the auto parts store and have them check your alternator.
