Question 70 convertible - wire running to rear speaker?

I removed the rear seat for the first time in my '70 SX convertible and found a blue wire leading to nowhere. Here's a pic:

It's on the passenger side of the car with a female plug. I know some of these cars had a speaker on the trunk side of the backseat divider (mine doesn't have one at this time).

I tried to find the other end near the fuse box, but haven't had any luck. Looking behind the radio is a pain in the butt.

So, does anyone have a definitive answer on this one? Thanks in advance.

Speaker wire. Other end is probably between the radio and the glovebox, or might be plugged into the back of the radio. Hook a speaker up to it and see if it works.
