'70 442 Steering Assembly

Hello,
Putting new tilt steering/column set-up in the OLDS. At the (OEM) rag joint it has a wire that ties it in for a ground. The new rag joint has a "band/strip" similar to all the ground set-up for gauges etc...any hint's on the install ?. And yes the OEM bolt was rounded off ...but a 12mm 6 point socket bit enough to get it off.
Time on job about 2 hours ....but it is off
Thanks!

What's the question? The strap and the wire work exactly the same to provide the ground path for the horn button. That's all they do. Just be sure whichever one you have is properly grounded on both sides of the rubber joint.

The question was the basic function of the wire or replacement joint that came with a band / strap type ground. Thanks for the info.!
