69 442 Courtesy Lights

Trying to replace the courtesy bulbs in my 69 442 convertible, chassis manual says size 90 bulbs. Fusick sent me the 90 NAPA bulbs. Should these just twist in? I see the L shaped grooves on the inside of the socket and the nubs on the bulb base. Do the two pins down in the socket compress, do the get frozen and stick. Not sure why these bulbs are not twisting in the socket.
Thanks!

Are the pins on the sides of the base different heights? If so, the bulbs have to go in the correct way or they can't press all the way down into the socket.

If the pins are the same height, then it's likely you need to press harder to compress the springs under the socket terminals, or the inside of the socket may have corrosion or dirt that is interfering with the bulb fit.

Electrical contact cleaner and an old toothbrush. If that doesn't clean enough corrosion off, get a small brass brush. Just make sure to remove the fuse first.
