I have a new harness I’ve been installing, and I’ve got it just about completed. My headlights and high beams work perfect. No turn signals though at the front or rear, and no brake lights. I have a brand new brake light switch installed. Would a bad column harness cause these problems? Let me know if you need further information. Just reaching my wits end with trying to get this finished up. Thanks for any help!
Start with the simple things. There are 2 flashers, the one in the fuse box is for the 4 way hazard lights. The turn signal flasher is held in place with a clip behind the dash, just to the left of the steering column.
Do you have a 12 volt test light? If not, get one. They are cheap and probably the most useful tool for automotive electrical work.
Find the switch for the brake lights. There should be power on the orange wire. If not, you need to find out why. I assume you have checked all the fuses?
If you have power on the orange wire, check for power at the white wire with the pedal pressed.
if that tested good, go to the turn signal switch connector. Find the white wire, again check for power at the white wire with the brake pedal pressed. If that’s good, check for power on the yellow and dark green wire with the pedal pressed. No power, you have a defective switch.
Check for power on the purple (turn signal power from the turn signal flasher). wire of the switch (ignition key on). No power, assuming the fuse is good most likely the flasher is bad.
Start with those test, see what you have. Since nothing works front or rear, I’m leaning towards turn signal switch.

thanks for that. Yeah I’ve gone through most of the simple stuff. The only piece I haven’t replaced is the turn signal switch so I’ve ordered a new one and hopefully installing that resolves the issue. Thanks for your info!
At the column connector, do you have power on the white wire with the brake depressed, flashing 12v on the purple with the turn signals selected, or flashing 12v on the brown with the 4 ways on? Do the interior courtesy lights work? Do the tail lights work?
