66 Cutlass / 442 dash harness
66 Cutlass / 442 dash harness
Anyone here replaced the original dash harness with one of the aftermarket ones?
My car has some issues with the original one which, over the years, has been apparently modified by previous owners. My restoration shop replaced the dash housing with a reproduction (OPGI) and the circuit board was bench tested as good. However when installed, the gas gauge and generator light does not energize when the ignition switch is turned on. Turn signals work, lights work. At this point I’m not sure if the radio gets power but the a/c heater fan comes on when switched. They are going to troubleshoot the harness to try to solve the problem. I’m wondering if replacing it would be worth the hassle and expense.
The reproduction dash housing is advertised as a 66-67 but I’m told that it’s actually specific to the 67. Any suggestions?
