6 volt systems

Those of us that have cars with 6 volt systems, I have a question. If the battery maintains 6.2 volts, is that enough to start the car. I only has about 6:1 compression. But before I buy a new battery (mine drops to 6.2, even after charging to 7.1) is that OK? Haven't tried to start the car yet with the 6.2 volts.

Ed, as long as your starter and charging system are in good repair, and you have properly sized battery cables (0 or 2/0 minimum) you shouldn't have any issues starting. Make sure all connections are clean too.

Your battery is probably on it's last leg.
