6 cyl to 8 cyl tic-toc-tach

Does a tic-toc-tach have provision to switch from a 6 cylinder to an 8 cylinder engine. I bought my 68 cutlass with a 6 cyl, now it has an 8 cyl. Do I need to do something with the tach to make it read correctly?

Don't tell me I've stumped you.
My tach reads 1800 RPM and my Engine Analizer reads 1200 RPM.
I know this doesn't match up perfect, but I'm guessing that the Tic-Toc-Tach should read 1600 if I ratio it out to the number of cylinders.
Anyone know about this? Can I get this modified somewhere?

That is only a little. I don't think that will convert it from 6 to 8 cyl.
It would require a different resistor I'm sure, but I wouldn't know which one or what value to replace it with.

Its only $1200. I'd buy a repop first. Same concept as what Bob does.

Rob would know how, he could build one from scratch out of a brick and a paper clip.
Where are you Rob?
