1985 regency no injector pulse

Just got this car for free and it sat for a long time in a barn where squirrels got into the engine bay and chewed wires I have repaired all wires to my knowledge without a schematic. Everything seems to now work correctly except the injectors. They have power to them with key on but do not pulse wen cranking over. I cannot find any wore schematic or info online. I know the 85 year is not as popular I would pay someone for help! Or pay someone for schematic! Thank u

I had Bishko manuals for my 96 98 before I got an OE printed copy.

https://www.bishauto.com/

You could always use a test light to check the fuel injectors for 12 V while cranking.

Spark and injector pulse width are related. They both get the trigger signal from the distributor, Usually in those years the ignition and the injection system work independently of each other, the ECM only controls the spark timing, so you can have spark and no injector pulse at the same time. Does the check engine light come on when you turn the key on? If not this indicates that ECM is not powering up. Check the reference voltage to the sensors, unplug the Throttle position sensor and check voltage at the reference voltage terminal it should be 5 to 9 volts depending on the year. Another thing thar can cause no injector signal is a out of range MAP. Sensor. Unplug the MAP sensor connector and see if it tries to fire. It will run like **** but it should try to start. I have seen out of range MAP sensors read in the 9000 ft elevation range which would lean it out so bad the it will not start at anything close to sea level.

If you have no pulse or CEL then its likely the computer is dead. Those distributors will spark with no computer input, so it may fire off with ether or gas down the intake. The easiest thing to check first are the fuses for the computer. There should be two in the box below the dash.

Ok I now have injector pulse and fuel pump. It tries to start but will not. I believe it is the map sensor on top of the engine with a 4 pin plug not 3 pin. The sensor has a vacuum line that goes too it and 2 wires go from it hard wired into a syloniod with another vacuum line coming off that it is located by the fuel pressure regulater. I cannot get this part at the store and everything I find online has a 3 wire plug and no syloniod. I believe 1985 was a one year setup and cannot find info. Thank u for all the help everyone I wanna get this baby going tonight lol

That's a problem. TBIs run at 13-15 psi. I believe the regency has MPFI that needs 45 psi. That pump won't work.

I do not think that is a MAP sensor. It looks like a EVAP purge valve. I do not think your car even has a MAP sensor. I believe it a Mass Air system, and uses a Mass Air Flow sensor.

All of the emissions equipment needs to be present or your car won't run right.

You mentioned earlier that you didn't see a Check Engine Light with the key on. We're you ever able to pull codes?

The check engine light was off because the computer wasn't on. I have it now and have not checked it yet I have been fixing other problems I'm getting close just not sire how all the vacuum lines ran before

You should reread post #2. Alldata could be very helpful with wiring diagrams and other service data. Spend a little $$.
