1984 Delta 88 brake lights

I have a two door 84 Delta 88. The rear lights are red and yellow. When i press the brake they both come on. Is this normal or do I have a short. The yellow lights also turn on and off while i have my turn signals on and that is Normal. But i don't believe the yellow and red brake lights should come on together when I press the brake. Does anyone know?

Look at the bottom lefthand corner of your fuse box. There should be a green connector with a white wire plugged into the fuse box at that location. Pull it out and the amber lights will no longer illuminate when you step on the brakes. This jumper is designed for use on cars that have the all red tail lights. Someone apparently plugged it in.

Regardless of how the taillights work, that is one beautiful car. How many miles on it?

i know this is an old post, but i have these tail lights and am having the same issue in an 80 Delta 88. Would this be the same for me as well, or would I have to replace my connectors at the actual housing? I am currently looking at my fuse box (under the driver side dash), and don’t see that connector..

I believe it should. You may have to check each wire that is plugged in with a jumper to see which one it is.
