1971 delta 88 front speakers??

Hi guys I just wired in two new speakers in the rear of the 88 to my new stereo and its all good!

So tonight I went to wire in the front old speakers to the new stereo and the old ones have a solid green wire and a green/black wire.........I wired it so the green/black wire is to the - wire to the stereo and the solid green to the + on the stereo.

There is no -/+ markings on the old speakers.....so I hope it right...it works fine!!

then I went to hook up the other front speaker the same way and nothing.....so I took out my meter and tested the ohms.....and nothing...not getting the "beep" NFG????

Also does anyone know the diameter of the front speakers....if I have to replace them???

keep in mind guys im not too swift when it comes to electrical

I think they're 3 inches, but they're very easy to get at. Just slip a flat-blade screwdriver under the speaker grille on the dash and gently pry it up. The speaker is right there and easy to unscrew and remove.

I replaced the front speakers on my '73 Custom Cruiser, and I'm sure everything about them is the same as in your '71

If you ever want stock front speakers for your car, seek some from an 81-88 Cutlass G-body. They are a drop in fit and have the right impedance.
