1970 toro comfortron issues

last weekend i was tryin to re-activate my comfortron…the former owner removed the a/c belt and converted the vac-valve on the rear of the block to a standard hose (constant water flow through heater)

so I installed the a/c belt and a correct vac-valve, reconnected vac-lines to power servo and vac-valve. electric connectors are all fine. I also removed the instrument panel so I can check all vac-lines and electric connectors inside the car.

the only thing the comfortron does, was to engage the a/c compressor after sliding the control lever to several positions. but the blower motor didn’t started…so I shorted the dk. blue and lt. blue connection on the rear of the control panel with 12v and the blower worked at Hi and LO speeds….forgot to say...with the blower connected back to the control panel I pushed the master switch and voila..the blower worked again…so I won’t suspect the blower switch on the control panel..maybe master switch then

despite of that..the air was cold ( but I guess, not air conditioned)…so I checked the transducer…pulled its vac-lines and put those together (w/o the transducer between them)…heard something going on in the heater box…and some seconds later she blew warm air inside the car.

so…what can I do now? I suspect either the transducer or the amplifier….the transducer wasn’t able to deliver vacuum to the power servo till I “shortened” the vac-circuit…but the transducer is controlled by the amplifier output…master switch can be an issue too

I know that comfortron is a PITA…but I want the car to be all original…so no chance to convert to standard or manual A/C

car is a 1970 toro GT

P.S.: I don’t know how much A/C fluid is in the system…pushed the valve where you fill the A/C one time and saw that there’s pressure on it..dont know how much pressure it needs…honestly..it wasn’t that much…but..if theres not enough fluid in the system, will it destroy the compressor??
