1969 Cutlass S wiring diagram

Hi, do you guys have a wiring diagram for a 1969 Cutlass S coupe with a 350 engine? I had the original on paper, unfortunately I lost it somewhere. I will be very grateful for a photo / scan.

Unfortunately, I don't have a 69 wiring diagram.

You'll want a reprint of the 1969 Factory Service Manual and Chassis Service Manual. Digital copies often have poor resolution. The wiring diagram wouldn't be the only figure to be unreadable.

I know, but in my case sending a printed diagram is more expensive than the diagram itself, plus I will have to wait at least a week (I live in Poland). My electrician needs it now because he's finishing up the wiring harnesses.

You're in luck. Here's a thread with a picture of a 1970 wiring diagram. Probably pretty similar to 1969.

WARNING: USE AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION

I have absolutely no knowledge whether the (below) 1968 wiring diagram is applicable to a 1969 vehicle - entirely your choice.
Also, note there exist other wiring diagrams in the Electrical sub-forum >>> https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/electrical-5/

It's not. 68 has the ignition switch on the dash, 69 on the column.

But is it electrically that different?

The 68 ignition switch has seven terminals. The 69 switch has six. The connectors are also completely different due to the different geometry of each switch, so the wire locations in the connectors are completely different. The extra terminal on the 68 switch is for the key buzzer function. On the 69 this is a completely separate switch at the lock cylinder in the column. There are also small differences in wire colors.

I'll also add that 69 and 70 are different from each other. The firewall connector wire locations are different between those two years. Ask me how I know...

Sorry, I fail to see the benefit of third party literature like this. Despite the risk of errors in transcription, one can buy an original Chassis Service Manual for what they charge for one of those wiring diagrams.

x2 on the CSM

I do have a Chilton's guide for my 71, 96 & 86 Ford truck. Nothing beats the factory literature though.

I have an original paper copy of the 96 Oldsmobile manual and a digital copy. By the 90s the GM literature had started to suck (overseas or contracted writers probably). The quality between the 71 CSM/FSM and the 96 manual is a world of difference. The 96 manual is twice as long as both of the 71 manuals put together but it's a more complex car.

My 68 wiring diagram I scanned years ago has gotten a lot of traction. That's my thumb print on the diagram oldcutlass posted......lol. I think I first scanned it around 2004

And, one of the best scans of a wiring diagram which can easily be read. I recall at some point it was mislabeled w/ the incorrect year (for some reason). I pointed it out to Eric who changed the title to 1968. At any rate, it does get some attention. Good job!

Then again, it hasn't changed since 1968.

I made stickies of a few wiring diagrams as they came up. If anyone wants to post other years I'll sticky them also, they are very helpful.

I got a factory manual for my car years ago, it wasn’t in the best shape when I got it, it eventually fell apart. I bought one of the reproduction manuals and was very disappointed to find the wiring diagram was in black and white, the factory book was color. I solved that problem by putting the color pages in the reproduction book.

If you can find one, definitely get a manual. Worth every penny.

If someone can validate the wiring diagram images posted above are those contained in the 1969 CSM we could make those images a sticky (as suggested by Eric). I've created a thread in the Electrical sub-forum. Can someone w/ a 1969 CSM validate?
