1968 442 tail light socket replacement

What’s the best option for a tail light socket replacement for a 68 442? Thanks!

Any new replacement will be made in Chi-Nah, try to repair the original if possible

Im not familiar w the 68 but the 70-72 socket is swaged in and while it can be replaced its a bit of a sh1tshow.

I would do what BFG suggested. chances are there is a open or high resistance connection from the socket to the housing and the housing provides the ground so you need to either ground the socket or
remedy that connection
