I searched our forum for information about battery cables for my 1966 Cutlass convertible manual transmission car. I found nothing that would clarify where from I should purchase new battery cables. Are the correct cables spring type or clamp style. Is positive red and negative black, are both red or both black. When I purchase the new cables they must be correct.
The stick shift cars used two cables I believe. The battery to the horn relay and the horn relay to the starter . It also used the clamp/tube bolted to the back of the head to route the cable to the starter. This was used on the 442 models with standard shift. I used M&H Electric aka wiringharness.com for my needs. They have the correct spring type ends and the cables were black.

I took a look at M&H. They have a listing for my needs I think. 09230 for Negative and 09445 for positive. just for a check I looked at my Ames GTO catalog and it looks like Ames may use M&H as a source for there battery cables. Ames has a an additional list for convertible application. Don't understand why for GTO but not for Cutlass. Any Ideas? If not I guess I need to call M&H.
Thanks Maniac. Your comment helped part of it. It turns out that Fusick uses the M&H part numbers in their catalog for the 66 Cutlass. However I would still hope that one of our forum members could verify with a comment or photo of what is correct I don't have a concours car but I would just like the install to be correct. One less question for me by someone else. The picture I posted is what I have now in my car.
