1/4 window feels loose

I replaced the rollers on my window regulator, but the window still seems a little loosy-goosy. It's better, but I can still grab it and move it. They are power windows, but it is coming from the regulator. I can see the rollers have play. Is it normal????

There should be minimal to no play at the roller. At the top of the window channel are the guides that you adjust to hold the window from being too sloppy. Loosen the guide bolt or screw (depending on model) and slide the felt part up to the window so it's just touching. You don't want to much contact or it will start leaving marks on the windows when they go up and down. This is a fairly common problem on 1/4 windows on almost all A Bodies I've run into.

I know that this issue came up on CO before. Can't remember who had to fix this problem. Maybe do a thread search on 1/4 window problems.

I know what you mean about some slop in the rollers. It is pretty common. In my power window conversion thread, i had to shim some of them up with thin washers and scraps of plastic. Of course, the whole window assy had to come out... New rollers would help, but some are hard to find. I think some interchange with the Camaro.

With the windows up, there should be no slop if the adjestments are made right. When down there may be some slop, but usually the window felts will hold it to prevent rattles.
