My 1963 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88
Well I promised I would upload pictures we will start working on her in a little bit. (I have no access to a garage ; so we cannot really spend alot of time fixing her up but...) I think we can save her from extinction.
My dad is a engineer for chrysler and started out his career painting so he will be giving my ride a nice paintjob. We will start working on it when I get done moving (very shortly)
I really dont know much about my cars specfic. like what exact type it is so if u could point me in the right direction i would be thankful.

Good for you for keeping another Olds alive. I just acquired a'63 myself and think they were very stylish. Mine has an engine issue but hope to get to the bottom of it as time allows. These cars have alot of torque and fun to drive..I surprisingly found a nice chrome trunk emblem on e-bay, and also an air cleaner. Mine has an edelbrock to fit the newer carb..Mark

Yeah im gonna keep this one alive ; I currently got $274 saved up for parts. I still need to find a place who can make a windshield for my car. Gotta have the shop check out the radiator, gotta get 2 new wheel cylinders for the front (dad said it costs like 65 for each of them), then i will buy the old holiday red paint,after that i will buy new carpet, then just buy like oldsmobile fender cover etc.
I also need to get all the parts for my air conditioning ; does anyone know where i could find the parts relatively cheap or if there are any new parts that i would be able to us.

There's places who specialise in original glass for older cars, and here's a hint. Any 63-64 GM B-body 4-door hardtop windshield, backlight and side glass will fit your car. You can get it from an Impala, a Pontiac Catalina or Bonneville, a Buick LeSabre or Wildcat, or an Olds Dynamic or Super 88. It has to be a 4-door hardtop.
I haven't priced wheel cylinders lately, but all 59-67 full-size Olds use the same ones. Ditto for brake shoes except 98 rear and Toronado. NAPA or CarQuest will be your best bet here. Try to stay away from the specialty houses like Kanter unless no one else can get it for you. They'll have it, but it will cost.
I got a core for my 64's radiator three years ago so I think you should be able to have it recored if it's bad. Fusick has reproduction radiator hoses that are no more expensive than parts store hoses and fit right. All a parts store will have are flex hoses, which I think look crappy and have a bad habit getting in the fan. www.fusick.com Make friends with Dave and Mike- they'll have stuff for your car no one else will and their catalog can be downloaded online.
Hard to say on a factory A/C setup. Sharing its components with Impala is a mixed blessing, because the stuff is available, but the Impala guys drive prices out of reason. All the engine brackets are Olds-specific. There's a kit made that will convert your POA system to an orifice tube/cycling clutch system. If I were going to keep and use the A/C, I'd use that and convert the system to 134a.
I've got parts books covering your car so holler if you need me to look up something. And by all means, buy yourself a 1963 Olds factory shop manual. It will be the best money you ever spend for that car.

Looks like the body is in pretty good condition.
Interior (from the thumbs) looks like it's also in really good shape.
Glad to hear it's going to get treated right. Love to see the finish when your Dad gets through with it.
Be sure to put up some new pics as you go to show the progress ok?? We like pics on this site.

Yeah I will surely keep everyone up to date ; my birthdays in 5 more days so im hoping on getting a radio (under my seat ) so i can keep the dashboard original.
rocketraider i will have my dad translate your post to me tomorrow.
The car color will be the original Holiday Red , I will be doing alot of the body work since my dad is a engineer and painter. Im gonna be ordering a new windshield wiper motor, wheel cylinders , car paint , pvc valve , air filter plate and prolly a new windshield this month.

Good luck on the '63 ! The car looks very restorable , and should be close to road worthy very soon. Surface rust on chrome can be removed using a brass brush and some metal/ chrome polish, like Brasso. Brass brushes are easy to find, and are sold for cleaning Bar-B-Ques among other uses. Use a magnet to make sure it's not just steel bristles plated with brass. Smaller brass brushes are sold at Harbor Freight and other tool supplies, and are sometimes included in the welding supplies section. After cleaning the chrome, wax it to prevent more rust. Oh...one more thing...ditch the bright blue wire looms, ok ? ( Or at least paint them black.) Have fun, and keep us posted on your progress.

olds 88 dynamic, was at the big auburn indiana show over labor day and picked up a card for auto city classic inc.. they specialize in window glass and gas tanks. call them i bet they would have a windshield for you. 763-444-5880

This link will take you right to the 63/64 starfire front windshield. Hope you saved more than 175.00 + shipping. Classic car glass isn't cheap. Talk to them and see if they can get a better price. I've bought from them and they gave me quality service and a great price on my 72 Cutlass side glass. Hope this works for you.
