Yes I'm impressed, a couple of you got right away. When the heads are reduced in height by .060 the push rods are .060 too long, not letting the valves close. Since I had the work done 13 years ago, my focus was only on remembering the work on the valves and installation of the hardened valve seats. I also think that I did have a flash of memory as I put the heads on earlier and wrongly dismissed any problems since the lifters were hydraulic. forgetting that lifters only take up .004-.007 in a cold engine. Good thing I'm almost done with this, seems the longer this takes, the dumber I get.
The fix: I measured the bolt pattern in the rockers and made shims from 16 gage material, aprox .058 -.61 thick. The holes are close fitting to the rocker bolts and can't move during assembly; and prevents the oil holes in the head that oils the rockers isn't blocked by movement of the shim. Chuck
