Pics of my 68 Delmont

She ain't no beauty but she sure brings back some good memories! My dad had one just like this back in 1976 when I turned 16 and got my driver's license. I had been looking for one half-heartedly for a few years and then I saw this one on e-bay, in the Chicago area. I picked it up between Christmas and New Years. It needed a few things repaired, replaced, renu-ed (gas tank)and refurbished to make it road-worthy but now she purrs like a kitten and rides like a dream. You can't wipe the smile off my face as I'm cruising down the road like I was 16 again.

It looks really clean and like a good find. Congrats! I had a chance to purchase a '67 two door the same color with a white interior. I owned a '69 Delta at the time and this '67 was for sale at a local service shop. I stopped to look at it really shopping for a console and set of bucket seats for the '69. I offered to buy the interior but the owner said no way. I think he wanted $800 for the whole car and I offered $500 for the interior. He didn't want to be burdened with selling a car minus the interior and I didn't want the whole car, I should have bought it though....

That is an awsome car. I bet it is fun to drive.

Oldsguy, I remember that car that we looked at. It was along highway 50 in Raytown. I think the car ended up sitting there for a year or so and then the guy went out of business. He probably ended up crushing it.

Yes, that was the one. Very sad story. I should have bought it, or you should have!

Thanks! The odometer says 46,xxx and as nice as the interior is, I believe it hasn't turned over. I'm going to keep it like it is (survivor). I want younger people to see what we drove back in the good old days. Most old cars you see nowadays are nice and shiny, no dents, scratches or rust (restored), but that's not how they were 30 years ago when we were driving them every day. I want this to look like they did 10 years after they rolled off the assembly line. When I get a chance, I'll get some better pics.
