My 1962 Olds Super 88

I finally dug her out of the garage and cleaned her up to take a couple of snap shots, hope you all like the pics. I have had this car for 16 years now and maybe put 3500 mile on it since I had it, she now has 74K orginal miles on it and runs good.

Hard to beat the simple, classic lines of a '62, but I am prejudiced!

nice looking car.

what kind of wheels/ rims did you put?

I do like those wire wheels, full sizes do have them in caps.
but i tought of getting me some rims that look close to original.
And not pay cadilac rim prizes

They are Cragar Star Wires 30 Spoke, they made them in the early 80's and they stopped around 89'. You can still find them on fleabay, but I won't guarantee they will be as nice. Thanks for looking!

I have a 64. Yours has great style and looks. Olds truly took a great deal away from the styling in 64. Great color too. I have all the chrome I can get on my car just to give it more pop! I have kept the original tires and hub caps, but after seeing your wheels I may be thinking of another way to add some more style to my 64.
I am jealous you have your car out!! I was taking mine out this weekend but we had 10 inches of snow Wednesday and the temps have not been above 30 deg's for over a week.
Looks like at least another two weeks before roads are safe for my spring cruise.
Good luck

Very nice looking car!
Sooooo, what's the scoop. A nice car like that has to have a story (history) waiting to be told. We like stories...and lots of pictures.

Here's the scoop! The car was orginally bought in Pennsylvania 12/22/1961 by a older gentleman who has since past on and his nephew inheritied the car in 89' he trailered it to Maine where he resides, he never titled the car he had it sitting in the garage under a cover, he would drive it up and down the street about every six months or so. I was stationed(Navy) in Maine at the time and a friend of mine invited me to hunt his buddy's place, at the end of the hunt we went down to have few beers and I noticed the car in the garage covered up and being a old car fanatic I had to see. Once I seen the car I had to have it, so I made an offer and he accepted, he said it had been sitting for 5 or so years and he really didn't know what he was going to do with it, needless to say it's been mine every since and once I titled it I guess you can consider me the second owner. I have all the orginal paperwork, tech sheet and purchase order in hand, all said and done my son will have it and hope he keeps it. I did have the car painted about 10 years ago and a few minor things, but for the most part the car is mostly orginal interior, trunk, seats and not much wear and tear, there is some pitting on the chrome, but to me it adds character. Overall the car runs and rides great, oh by the way I had to drive it from Maine to Virginia couldn't find a flat bed wide enough to carry it in time for my transfer here, so I drove it 652 miles with no problems, now that's a car!

I actually stayed with 14s, I had a set of 15s I was going to use, but the 14s seemed to be the right fit 235/75 R14s. I think it gives the car a more old school look.
