front suspension torque specs

got a question on the torque of the ball joints.

I got to wrench it on a torque of 70 and 40 ft- lbs min.

What is ment with min. minimum?

Or could i just set the torque on 70 ft-lbs on the lower arm, and 40 ft-lbs on the upper arm.

So i do not understand the min. as 70 ft-lbs min.

Take it to 40 and then tighten further until you can get a cotter pin through the stud and castellated nut.

Yep! You NEVER loosen a nut to get a cotter pin in.

i had this in my mind but did'nt understand the " min."
So this meaning "minimum"?

I knew it is was a strange question, but did'nt want to make a mistake with the suspension/ steering parts

No prob - I remember asking this same question 7 years ago when I was rebuilding my ford's front end.
We all learn things at different time.
