1970 w-33 delta custom

Cool site, can anyone give more info on the 1970 w33 cars? I would like to know if my car would have had a forged crank. I got this from the west no rust at all! I had no idea a big car could be so fun.

Welcome to CO. Someone will probably ask for the engine ID so you might as well get it and post it. And I agree with you, long reign the B and C bodies!!!!

The W33 was an engine option for the Deltas in 1970. It was the "top of the line" engine option for the Deltas, 390 HP.
Often confused with being a "police option". It was a regular RPO that was, however, ordered in conjunction with police options.
Probably won't have a forged crank, they are far and few in between in 455s, and generally were not found in the performance engines.

I can't give you the complete decode until i get home this evening, but I can tell you that you do, indeed, have the "police" package as evidenced by the "BO7" code. I also recognize the M41 heavy duty Turbo 400 trans and the G80 Anti-Spin.
That is one nice car!
Very cool that you have all of that documentation!!

Okay, here you go. You can get almost all of your codes from the attached SPECS page. Only 2 missing are:
U63 AM radio
N47 Variable assist power steering. Which is standard on the Delta Custom, so I don't know why it is listed.
Is the paint original? Any evidence that it was ever a "black and white" police car? It has all the options needed to be one.

The story is that the late owner was a fire fighter and his two brothers were cops. I would say that he got to drive one of those police cars and was hooked. The car was ordered from a dealer in Ca, and the owner was from Kingmon Arizona. I was reading through some of his info that came with the car and saw that his trade in was a Olds,[/quote]

VERY cool car...I do believe I see a rear sway-bar...very rare item, beleive me I know, took me years to find one for my 65 Jetstar I (it came off a '69 Delta Custom, in fact). You almost never see one on a 65-70 B-body.

Yes, she did have one repaint years ago. I was told this car was ordered as emblem delete, I do not know if that is true or if they were removed at the time of repaint. Did any one notice that they were missing?

Thank you ,I do not want to sell, but realistically I just do not have the time to mess with it. as you can see the 442 awaits.

yep, years ago I had a tough decision just like that. I had a 1970 Buick Wildcat with a 455, one the coolest sleepers I can think of but it was that car or the 442 - the 442 won

I guess I should count myself lucky this car is halfway across the country, so I won't be tempted to do something stupid...
