Is a '72 88 convertible trunk lid the same as a 2dr hardtop? I'm trying to find a decent replacement for a friend's project and not having much luck. Thanks

 

72 and 71 should be the same I know a 4 door fits the conv but I can’t say if the 2 door fits

 

I can't say with certainty, but I can't imagine why not. If you have a line on one, you could take pictures of the bad one, and measurements, and compare to the potential replacement.

 

I have the same car if you need measurements, try Desert Valley auto parts, got a floor section from them.

 

From Dec 73 factory parts manual. This tells me 1971 and 1972 are different, but each year the same decklid fits all 88 bodystyles.

1971. 5400- 88, 6400- Custom, 6600- Royale


1972. 5400- 88, 6400- Royale

 

The '71 had the louvers for the ill fated ventilation system, '72 that was gone. So they may be the same except for the louvers.
