Looks real nice! That back shelf is one of the easiest things to fix. For a cruiser, the paint can stay the way it is for a while. Looks like some fun ahead!

anyone know where i can get a set of 5 on 5 to 5 on 4 3/4 adapters?

Adapters are available but I would not recommend using them. They might get you into clearance problems although you do have a bit more room then with a 98 with skirts.

Wow, do they even make these? My '67 Delta came without a spare tire, and I have had no end of trouble trying to find a 14-inch, 5 on 5 rim to fit this car. I bought one today at the big Springfield Swap Meet in Springfield, Ohio only to discover when I got it home that the center opening of the rim is 2.75 inches and I need three inches!!! Fortunately, the rim was only $10. But I'm going back to that meet tomorrow and try like nobody's business to get the right one as there are a LOT of vendors there, and I stopped looking for rims when I had found the one I bought, thinking it was right. I figure the $10 I spent today is the cost of an education on this.

 

I'm not implying that they are not hard to find, but I'm a bit surprised they are. Part number 588538, these "S" code wheel were *the only* big car (B-body) 14" from '63-'68 except Jetstar 88s (which were the same as F85s). In '69, I believe they went entirely to 15" wheel on the big cars. I would expect a decent interchange with other GM divisions too. So I guess those are one of those those things that were originally out there in big numbers, but are hard to find today. About 5 years ago I was lucky enough to find and buy a NOS (stickers and all) set.
Jaunty, look for an "S" stamped by the valve stem hole.

Thanks. They look like they would do the trick. HOWEVER, I don't want to spend $129! I want to find a rim for $10 or $20 at a swap meet. I just need one rim for the spare tire. If I'm lucky and never have a flat, this rim will be in the trunk forever and will never be seen.

I just returned from the second of two visits to the big "Springfield Swap Meet" (used to be called the Cars and Parts Swap Meet, I think), and there were a LOT of vendors selling a LOT of rims. However, I couldn't find what I needed. All the 14-inch, 5 on 5 bolt pattern rims that I could find had a center opening of 2.75 inches, and I need 3.00 inches. I'm coming to the realization that these rims will be very difficult to find, and I will need to locate some that came from a mid-60s full-size Olds or other GM make, as wmachine suggests. I had been hoping that a wider range of makes and model years would have used these rims, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I did speak to a few of the vendors as I was looking at their rims, and most of them, after I told them what I needed, just smiled kind of crookedly, shook their heads, and wished me luck.

By the way, I took some photos of what Oldsmobiles I saw the Springfield meet and will post them over in the General Forum. There was a large car-for-sale area with maybe a half-dozen Oldsmobiles for sale. I went to the car show area today, and there wasn't a single Olds there before we left about 10:30 this morning. There certainly might have been more there yesterday, when attendance was MUCH larger, but I didn't have a change to get over there before having to leave for the day.

I have a 67 Delta and just bit the bullet and got the drivers side manifold.
It was almost 300 bucks but the duals are worth it!

well exhaust is kickin my azz the cross over pipe seems to have a slight bend and wont line up right to seal on the manifold....grrrrrrrr

I don't suggest for anyone to use wheel adapters. Oldsguy had bolt pattern adapters on his 69 Delta 88 and one came loose at about 35mph. Luckily nobody was hurt but it damaged his car. They are meant for trailer queens only.

Buy the dual exhaust manifold for the driver's side. You can get them from Thornton. Then take the passenger's side manifold, grind the flange for the crossover and have it welded closed.
