1964 Dynamic 88 front drums

I just bought a 1964 Dynamic 88. Body is rough, but drivetrain is fair. Has a growing list of attention, and brakes are top on the list. Rear drums seems to be coming off quite easily. Front drums, not so easily.

Any help is appreciated.

Regards

I don't have a 1964, so it would be best to hear from someone who does; but on some other ones it's easiest to remove the front drums with the hubs.

OK. Read the factory service manual.

Once you do, you will find that the drums are retained to the hubs with the pressed-in wheel studs. You have to remove the spindle nut and pull the hub and drum off as a unit. If you need to replace the drum on the hub, you need to press out the wheel studs to separate the two. Once the hub and drum assembly is off, you want to re-grease the wheel bearings and replace the grease seal also.

I merged your two identical threads. It is neither necessary nor in your best interest to post the same question in multiple threads. Keeping all responses in a single thread allows incorrect answers to be caught and corrected more quickly.

Thanks for the info regarding front brake drums. I will remove the entire assembly and go from there.

My apologies on posting twice. I discovered that I made a mistake posting in the wrong category.
