WTH is this??

WTH is this??

Found this in engine bay, on the drivers side suspension. Anyone have a clue to what it is?

From the battery used back in the day I assume. Makes sense that I found it on the drivers side of the engine bay.

is it that 6 or 8 vent caps you had on batteries back in the say? That looks to old for a 1974 car

Six.

And that's about right for a "normal" battery well into the eighties (I recall the fancy "Low Maintenance" ones had the flat tops from around 1978 or so).

It's definitely the way the official GM Energizers were put together in the mid-seventies.

Well that is kinda cool to see that it sat on the suspension for all these years, prob 20+.

Is it a Turkey Timer?

Pops up when the Turkey is done!
I think 12 volt car batteries always had 6 cells (one cap per cell, two volts per cell) while the 6 volts only had 3 cells???
