Will Door grab assist handles from other cars fit 1999 olds 88

Hi. I am looking for the grab handles that sit above the windows for an 1999 Olds 88 but i am having no luck. Can anyone tell me if another gm car would have the same handles? Or at least ones that would fit?
Thanks so much!
Chris

Surprisingly, this was covered recently. Did you make the original post? I don't recall.

FWIW, any handles from a GM H / C body should work (i.e. Buick LeSabre, Pontiac Bonneville, Olds 98, Buick Park Avenue or Cadillac DeVille).

There are some of that era Olds 88s in the local yards. If I remember to grab them I may be able to get a set. What color do you need? What other years fit?

A handle from just about any full size GM car from 1992-1999 should fit. The U-Pull-It yards are full of cars this age so it should be no problem to find what you need. Just be careful removing it. I needed one of these for my '95 Bonneville and I broke about half a dozen of them before I figured out how to remove one intact.

I found a set, in of all colors...tan. The actually came from a 98, but have the same type of attachment with two clips on one end, and one on the other. They will need some cleaning, and maybe some touch-up paint in a couple of spots. They function well, and have all of the clips and mounting plates. The yards around here are becoming increasingly expensive, and the price is $30 plus $7 shipping.

Hi Fred! Thanks for the footwork. Are they still on the car or did you already pull them?

When I get something for someone, I always pull the parts when I see them. It costs me $3 each time I go to the yard, and I have to drive 15 minutes each way. I have them in hand. I accept paypal "to friends and family" at jfkiehl@ij.net. Include your address in the comment/message with the funds.
