Various vacuum controls were located in that position in various models and years.
Since your photo is extremely low resolution, it is not possible to tell which unit is pictured from the photo alone.
Your Chassis Service Manual will explain its name and its function, though.
If you don't know what it is, why do you want a new one?

I have the service manual and I've searched the index and various chapters, but have come up dry. Here is the manual I have. mZcY7KtW0VFMG54rIr_AV3g.jpg
In that manual, there is an exploded view of the intake manifold 0900c15280080bed.gif the image has the thermal vacuum switch located on the left side of the water neck, and the water temperature switch located on the right side, but nothing for what I'm looking for.
My reasoning for wanting a new one is because the engine is out of the car and I'm currently "cleaning it up" (power washing, engine paint, headers, etc) I'd like to put the sensor that came out of there back in, instead of just plugging the port. The old sensor was broken off.

For starters, post a close up of the sensor you are asking about. Once you upload the photo, you might want to verify that someone who's never seen your car can actually make out the thing you are asking about. You should also check the Cooling and Carb sections of your CSM, as vacuum hose layouts, along with thermal vacuum switches, are usually shown in those sections.

The first picture was not mine, I found it on Google and used it because it showed the sensor I'm asking about. This is the only picture I have that is actually mine 20150505_200517.jpg
The sensor I need is circled in red, next to it is the water temp switch.
Here is another image (not mine) of the location of the sensor I need.

The location isn't the most important thing - they put different switches in that location at different times.
Also, the contours of that manifold look odd to me.
Do you have a photo of the whole engine?
Is it a 400, by any chance?

I apologize for not posting the year, my car is a 1975. I do have a picture of the whole engine but it might not be the best, I will check when I get back to my laptop. The engine could be a 400 I guess but all the parts I've been buying I've ordered them for a 455. Not sure what is and is not interchangeable
A closer look shows that that IS an Oldsmobile manifold, though the framing and angle had me fooled for a moment.
If you have a 455, then the vacuum switch on the rightmost front corner should be a Choke Thermal Vacuum Switch (page 6C-26).
Its function is described on page 6C-43 (all of the emission control gizmos, in general, are described on pages 6C-32 to 6C-49).

MDchanic I can not thank-you enough. Those pages you directed me to were exactly what I needed. I ordered a sensor Thursday, and I'm just hoping it's the right one. In the picture, it was a 2 port which is what I need, but the part that threads into the intake manifold looked to be too big. Hopefully the picture was just an example pic, not the actual one I'm getting. Thanks again!
