Sold one of my "Babies"

I wanted to free up a space in order to bring another project car to my house. I put two cars for sale, my 1971 Delta and a 1972 Supreme. I was hoping the Supreme would sell first but I knew it would be the Delta. Selling cars is a real PITA. It's almost like a blood sport anymore. Probably for the best that the Delta sold because now I'll be a little more motivated to get the next project convertible ready for spring. I do enjoy driving a convertible on warm evenings.

That's a beauty. Saw it at the Alliance show in August.

Selling definitely is a pain. I was lucky enough to sell my '72 Chevy pickup in July and just took a $2K deposit for my '79 GMC Astro/95, and I'll be posting my '72 V Code Supreme on here next....

Then you'd love it here. Well, if you consider 90-110 "warm" that is. Some summer nights it doesn't drop below 100 until well past midnight.

After seeing the weather, earthquakes, fires, etc around the other parts of the country, Ohio looking pretty good to me. We get about 15 great convertible nights a year. Snow doesn't bother me as much now I'm retired. Enjoy your "nice" weather.

Currently visiting in Northern California. It's our grand daughter and family for her 1st birthday. We are about one hour south of Napa. Had spent the past Saturday in Napa. Fires started around midnight Sunday. It's smokey here and fires are not under control much at all. 170, 000+ acres burned already with heavy winds and lower humidity coming tonight. All compliments of a five year drought. Will be heading home Monday 10/16 but not happy about leaving our kids behind. Will be back to boring Ohio weather but grateful.

I have no doubt that selling was the pits. I think it takes a lot of work. Hope you don't miss it too much and enjoy the others.

In the past I also had space issues forcing the sale of several vehicles to make room for other projects... Never had any issues with selling, of course that was many years ago... Presently I have enough space to keep just about anything I want... However, today I would agree, selling is just a PITA... So much so that on occasion, I have actually donated vehicles to a good cause...

I have a 600’ long driveway. The guy drove the car out to his car hauler parked on the street. I had never seen the car driving from the “outside.” I though, “damn, she really looks good from the outside.” Going into my back building I now have an empty bay. It did seem odd this morning. Winter is coming so getting rid of least one car was necessary for my plan.

I'm going to admit...seeing your car being driven from the outside and hearing the familiar cackle from the exhaust, is an outer body experience. Or some other strange feeling, I think I can relate.
