i have a 84 olds delta 88 with a 307 c.i.d v8 and i heard you could redo the block and bore it out and give it some extra juice and i wanted to see if a turbo could be added.

 

I think if you dig around on you tube you will find a 455 that is turbo charged. I'm not sure how far you will want to go with the 307 though. there are inherent issues involved with building one. you might want to look into a 350 or 403 and build up from that platform. you will likely save a healthy chunk of ching. check the wikki site there should be a whole rundown on perf issues with a 307.

 

thanks man ummm is a chevy 350 capable of a turboor supercharger. it would most-likely be one from a chevy caprice like a mid 90s i think they were lt1's

 

I was talking about an Olds 350, It will bolt right in. depending on how you build it yes. I am not an expert, so can't tell you what parts or combinations to use. If you were to swap in a Chevy you will have a substantial amount of work to do. You can get a small block Olds very reasonably, and perf parts are readily available. Yes a bit more expensive than Chevy, but not so much so to make it worth putting a chubby in the car.

 

Sure you can. Expect to bring many $1,000 bills. A much more cost effective power improvement is to swap a 455. In any case, you'll be leaving your stock 200-4R trans on the ground (well, parts of it anyway).

 

I plan on trying it with my Custom Cruiser. The 88's have plenty of room up front. I figure is would be easier to run twin turbos by making custom exhaust manifolds rather than working with the stock ones and rerouting the exhaust. I figure you could run 5-8 psi easy and not hurt anything
