Oversize tire recommendations

New wheels arrived today. Now I need to settle on tire sizes so my local shop can get them ordered.
I've narrowed it down to 275/60R15 or 255/70R15 on the rear 8.5 inch rims. 275 is wider and 255 is taller by one inch. Section widths are 10.7 vs 10.3.
For the front, either P235/70R15 or 255/70R15 .
Input from fellow D88 owners is much appreciated.

235/70-15 on the front, 275/60-15 on the back. These tires are nearly the same diameter. I have the 8.5" TTOs with the 1" negative offset on the back. I have the 7" TTOs with 0.25" negative offset on the front. I fear the additional offset and width of the 8.5" wheels on the front will be a problem, especially if you go with the 255s.

I know from my 67 Delta that the 15x7 front and 15x8.5 rear wheel combo will fit and look great. As I mentioned, I've got 235/70s on the front and 275/60s on the back. You'll be very happy with that combo.

Just got back from my tire shop and they are ordering a pair of 275/60r15 today.
They showed me a pair of NOS Firestone 255/60r15 that have been collecting dust on a rack in their small warehouse for a long time. They still have labels on the tread. They offered them to me for 25.00 each which I couldn't say no to. The tires are 27 inches tall so the front will be lowered slightly..going with black wall side out since white lettering wouldn't match..between fronts and back...

Very nice!

To the OP, I'd be worried about the date on those $25 tires. Even stored indoors and not exposed to UV, they might still be a concern. I've had an old tire come apart while driving. You get a lot more sensitive to that after it happens to you.

Car looks very nice with those, but I'm biased when it comes to the TTOs.

Actually, thinking of upgrading to a more modern version of that color in a basecoat/clear coat. Two of my faborites are Lexus Bamboo Pearl from approx 2007. Or Jaguar Jade Green from mid nineties.. I also like 1968 Cadillac Green...so not decided yet...
