Last Time I'll ask..DO 63 /88 fenders fit a 64??

Today someone came by and wanted to buy my 63 fenders I have stored. I did not sell them 'cause I have been told the 1963 fenders will fit my 1964 dynamic 88. Later in the day an autobody owner was over helping me re-install my hood and he told me they will not fit. Some on this site have suggested both yes and no......SO what's the correct answer?? I understand the end cap is different but I have been told you can remove it and re-install on the 63 fenders.
The dude was willing to pay 275.00 for the pair. If they will not fit I will sell them.

Was the body shop owner able to explain why they won't work?
I wish I had an answer for you, but I just don't know.
Now, since you have the car and the fenders, why don't you take a close look at both and compare them. Be sure to check all the mounting points and also where everything else attaches to the fender - end cap, inner fenders, hood hinges, etc. I would think with a critical eye and a tape measure, you should be able to see for yourself.

Question

Hello,
I have several 63' 88's/Starfire's and a 64' Fiesta Wagon.
I have looked at both and they look very similar the only difference I believe is up front where the fender extension mounts, if the bumper will allow 63' fenders to fit on a 64' and the fender extensions fit then YES. But I have never checked but to me they look similar, and I have sold 63' fenders to an owner of a 64' Wagon.

Yes they do look mirror image ...I know the end cap is different and I will have to swap.
I was confident that the 63 fits a 64 but after hearing from a few I became hesitant. The body shop owner noted I would need to drill new holes to fit the car...about an hour per fender of labor and I will need to shim to make fit and then shim the hood to line up correctly. So my final answer is: YES BUT NEEDS DETAILED WORK TO FIT.
Thanks for you thoughts.
