Hubcap question???

Any reason a hubcap from a '65 Starfire won't fit my "66 dynamic 88. Think these add a much sportier look then my standard ones without having to invest in new wheels. Thanks

Sorry. Yep both are 14" wheels. I assume they would fit but don't know if the different wheels could interchange the hubcaps. Thanks

All GM 14" hubcaps should fit all plain GM 14" wheels (not mags, obviously), as far as I know, at least back through the sixties. There could be some Caddy oddballs, but I don't think so.

Technically those are wheel covers (covering the complete wheel). Hub caps only cover the hub and the lug nuts (often nicknamed dog dish style caps).

And when I come out in the morning and find them stolen, I'll shout, "Some b@stid swiped my wheel covers!"

Doesn't have the same ring to it.

Those are the 1965 Deluxe wheelcovers used on all series A-B-C. The 66 Deluxe have a turbine-blade look; I'm guessing you have the standard 1966 cone wheelcovers. The 65 caps will fit your 66 just fine.

Why not go for a set of 66 three-bar spinner wire caps? They'll work on all 66 except Toronados and Ninety Eights and really dress up an 88.

No. They stopped that nonsense in 1964. However, the 64-65 Custom Deluxe cast aluminum wheelcover bolts onto the wheel and requires a special wheel. The ones pictured are not those.

Try this utube link. You will laugh you butt off. This song was made by a guy named Billy Ledbetter who was a friend of my wifes. I think he did the song in about about 1963 (yes I noticed the LTD wheelcover popup and the LTD did not come out until 1965). Billy was a musician who just wanted to play music. He was a very nice guy and passed away 2-3 years ago. My wife and I saw him and visited with him about a year before he died.

RIP Billy

I thought it was appropriate and glad you enjoyed it. It was pretty much a local thing in North Louisiana for a short while but apparently pretty popular in Europe.

Just bought these"Wheel Covers" for my '66 Olds Dynamic. Think they will look good (sportier then the standard ones) and only $20 on ebay so can't lose...Thanks for your help. Will post pics when I get them on
