Front Structural Pieces

Hello;
We are working on a 1961 Super 88 hardtop that was started by someone else. The car came to us with the front disassembled.

We put everything back together but noticed a large opening behind where the front bumper will hang. The shop manual refers to a 'lower radiator baffle assembly', but the reference drawing is not very complete.

Is anyone familiar with this piece? Is it one piece that stretches across from tire to tire or is it several pieces? Is it metal or rubber or plastic? We may have it in the shop and not even realize it.

Thanks in advance.

I am no longer "baffled" by this piece (ha, see what I did there?)!

In a box of parts we found the tattered remains. We will buy a sheet of masticated rubber from Steele Rubber and use what's left of the original piece as a template to make a new one.

I got caught masticating in the lunch room once.
