Maybe a stupid question

I saw a clock delete on ebay, and it is the same thing i have in my 69' 88

what is the function off it? , could there be in stead a clock?
Becouse there are like a clock 12 signs on it.

Pleace don't laugh i did took that piece at least 4 time's out of the dash and looked at it.
And tried to find out the function if it

Do you mean it looks like a clock except there are no arms and no mechanism behind it? If so, then it probably is a clock delete. If Oldsmobile was going to delete a clock you would think they would just put a blank cover plate but maybe not.....

The clock delete has no function other than to fill or cover the hole where a clock would be. If the clock was an option and you didn't order it you got the delete deal, same if it was standard and you didn't want it, same thing with radios.
They put the marks on it to match the gauge faces so it looked like it should be there I guess.

If you'd like to install a clock instead of the delete I've got an extra one. It probably needs rebuilt as most of the factory clocks didn't last 40 plus years! John

Is the clock wired from the wiring harnes? or with a penlite

With the resto of my 88 i took the damm thing many time's off the dash.
First looking if there were 2 arms that i tought fell off.

That i experienced with my feul meter, The needle fell off.
Took mee more than 2 hours to set it "right"

But do the later models fit a 69 dash?

Thought there were differend type's?

gonna think about it, but i bought to much lately so it must fit my budget.

U35 clock was optional. From parts it cost $32 vs. the cover $4.65.

Clock

Well.... I now remembered this came from a 1968 model so I don't know for sure if it will fit your 1969. I know the Cutlass will interchange between 1968 and 69. Check out the photos and see what you think. I'd want $15 for it and shipping to the Netherlands would cost $21.00 US Postal. If it will fit, let me know if that would work for your budget. I can certainly put your name on it and set it aside until your ready for it. John

Hey John, that;s a good price for the '67-68 clock, but the '69 is different. I believe '69-70 are rectangular instead of round.
BTW, the 2 threaded studs show that clock as for B & C-body cars. The Cutlass models got a clock that was very similar (and will actually work in an 88/98) but did not have the studs spot welded to the case.
